Larry Patrick

Pastor Larry Patrick serves as the Senior Pastor of Lakefront Church of God, bringing over 47 years of dedicated ministry experience. Pastor Patrick has been our Senior Pastor since the Church founding, 36 years ago. has been committed to preaching the uncompromised Word of God, fostering spiritual growth, and shepherding the church with integrity and compassion. Known for his biblical teaching, strong leadership, and heart for people, he continues to lead Lakefront Church of God with vision, faith, and a passion for community outreach.

Pastor Patrick is joyfully married to Sarah Ann Patrick, and together they have been blessed with two children, Victoria and Valerie, six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. His family remains a central part of his life and ministry.

Dwayne Gibson

Dwayne Gibson serves as the Assistant Pastor of Lakefront Church of God, where he is dedicated to supporting the spiritual growth of the congregation through preaching, teaching, and pastoral care. He is known for his compassionate heart, steady leadership, and commitment to serving both the church and the community. Pastor Gibson is joyfully married to Donna Gibson, and they are proud parents of their daughter, Tatum.

HISTORY OF THE CHURCH

Lakefront Church of God was founded on September 4th, 1988, in the Johnson Fork district along the Mountain Parkway in Magoffin County, Kentucky. Birthed out of a shared vision and commitment to serve God and the local community, the church was incorporated by four devoted men of faith: Melvin Risner, Corbett Stephens, Menifee Patrick, Dallas Patrick, and Larry Patrick.From its very beginning, the church was established as a place of worship, community, and spiritual growth. Pastor Larry Patrick was appointed as the Senior Pastor at its founding—a position he has faithfully held ever since. His leadership has been marked by steadfast dedication, humility, and a deep love for both the congregation and the surrounding community.In 2011, Lakefront Church of God took a major step forward in its growth and outreach efforts by purchasing the former Middle Fork Elementary School campus. This move provided much-needed space for worship, ministry, and community service. The new location became a hub of hope and restoration, especially during one of the most challenging times in the county's history.In 2012, a devastating EF3 tornado swept through Magoffin County, leaving destruction and hardship in its wake. In response, the church stepped into action and founded the Water Into Wine Food Pantry, a ministry dedicated to feeding those in need and offering support during times of crisis. What began as a compassionate response to a disaster has grown into a vital community resource. The pantry is now a division of Outreach Ministries, an organization operated by the church to expand its mission of service and care.Most recently, on July 16th, 2023, Lakefront Church of God celebrated another milestone with the dedication of its new sanctuary. The dedication service, led by Rev. Donnie R. Hall, marked a new chapter in the church’s journey—a testament to God’s continued faithfulness and the enduring spirit of its congregation.From a small group of faithful believers in 1988 to a thriving church community today, Lakefront Church of God stands as a beacon of faith, service, and love in Magoffin County. The journey continues, and the mission remains the same: to glorify God, serve others, and share the hope of Jesus Christ with all who will hear.
